Vado a Roma

I’m heading off to Rome today. I’m not sure where I’m going after Rome, but I should have lots of photos to share!

I was actually supposed to leave earlier this morning, but….

I woke up around 7am to get to the station and buy my tickets before 8:35, which is when the train left for Chivasso, where I’d transfer to Milano. In Milano I’d transfer to Rome via a Eurostar train, which left at 11. I bought my ticket around 7:45, and I noticed a train was leaving for Chivasso around 7:50 or so, but I decided I should get some sandwhiches and water for the trip. So I ended up back at the station around 8:20, with plenty of time to spare. Or so I thought.

When 8:35 rolled around, lo and behold the intercom announces that the train is 20 minutes late. Which means I can’t make it to Chivasso in time for the connection to Milano, which means I certainly can’t make the 11:00 Eurostar to Rome.

So now I have a ticket for the 10:56 train to Chivasso to Milano to Rome via a 14:00 Eurostar. Originally I planned to get into Rome around 2-3 pm, but now I’m getting in around 6:30. Since we’re on Daylight Savings time (we switched on Easter), it will be light out and everything should be fine.

Everyone I’ve talked to says Rome is absolutely amazing, and I’m looking forward to exploring it!
